Toledo council approves consent agenda, waives liens and green-lights local permits and refunds

At its May 12 meeting the Toledo City Council approved its consent agenda and several routine but financially relevant items, including vendor payments, payroll and administrative permits.
The council approved accounts payable totaling $92,326.57 and payroll of $36,472.37, for a combined report total of $128,798.94. The minutes list vendor payments and a fund-by-fund breakdown (General $91,380.21; Water $9,938.12; Sewer $14,292.90). The consent agenda also included certification of liens on multiple properties, approval of building permits (e.g., 106 S. East and 302 B St.), liquor licenses for Reinig-Fridrichs Post No. 72 and La Terraza Mexican Grill, and a cigarette/tobacco permit for Casey's #2653.
Under new business, the council approved a request from William (Bill) Davis to waive special-assessed mowing fees on parcel #1415408010 at 207 N Church contingent on his purchase of the property. The council also approved releasing a $250 lien on the former Shoestring Jungle property (134 E. High) and authorized a partial refund to Connie Armstrong for a canceled Reinig rental; the clerk will revise the cancellation policy and return the revision to the council at the next meeting. Additionally, Chelsea Ahrens, STC athletic director, was granted use of city soccer fields for a June–July skills camp, with the condition city staff will not paint field lines.
All items noted above were approved by unanimous voice vote or roll call as recorded in the minutes. The council adjourned at 5:51 p.m.
