Staff member Chris Giesen reported he received a quote from Randy Barnes of $4,000–$4,500 to remove the metal fence and stockpile brush elsewhere on the industrial park site for later drying and burning. Giesen said he was waiting on a second quote from Tom Davis before making a final procurement decision. The board agreed the work was necessary to make recently platted lots more attractive for sale and that the industrial park fund could cover the expense.
The board gave the chair authority to approve the bid based on his judgment after comparing the two quotes. Staff will return with details as needed to finalize scheduling and planting decisions for the vacant lots.
