Committee approves Head Start meal agreement, two school drop-off projects and Village East HVAC change order

The Terrebonne Parish School Board Buildings, Food Service and Transportation Committee on June 26 approved a set of routine contract items, including a renewal of a Head Start meal-preparation agreement, notices to proceed for two elementary school secondary drop-off projects and a change order to replace alarms and detectors at Village East Elementary.

The committee recommended and the board approved renewal of an agreement with Terrebonne Parish Consolidated Government to prepare Head Start meals at Legion Park Elementary, Shriever Elementary and Southdown Elementary for the 2026–27 school year. On the Village East Elementary HVAC replacement, the committee approved Change Order No. 1 to replace corridor horns/strobes and all smoke detectors; the transcript lists the amount on the record as "$9,9940." Superintendent Butler said the alarm systems were removed previously and the replacements need to be uniform on a single system for safety. The change order is to be paid from the district building fund.
