Ambulance advisory board reports no missed transfers and lower overtime

At the April 7 meeting, Alderman Shawn Foster, chair of the Ambulance Advisory Board, reported operational improvements in the Jackson Ambulance Department under current leadership.
Foster said that under the leadership of Darci Fiala and Kirk Dunlavey, overtime has been "drastically cut," there have been no missed transfer calls recently, and nine members of the Fire Department have signed up to assist the Ambulance Department. He also said leadership updated EMT training records so that no certifications were expired. Foster thanked Fiala, Dunlavey and the Ambulance Department for their service.
Alderman Mike Schwartz asked whether the County Sheriff could provide periodic updates to the council on law enforcement services, noting the city pays the county for those services; the council discussed whether such reports should be monthly or quarterly. No formal action was taken on scheduling Sheriff briefings.
