Jackson council unanimously appoints Karla Kuipers to Ambulance Advisory Board

Mayor Marcus Polz introduced the item and said six individuals applied to serve on the board. Alderman Mark Titus recommended Kuipers, noting she is a longtime resident and a retired businesswoman who continued to operate Jackson Diesel and Electric after her husband’s sudden death. Titus said Kuipers would bring citizen representation rather than additional ambulance or health‑care expertise.
Alderman Joe Pell and others supported Titus’s recommendation, saying the advisory group already includes health‑care professionals and that a citizen perspective would broaden the board’s viewpoint. Alderman Nathan Peterson and Alderman Mike Schwartz also voiced support.
The council moved and unanimously carried the appointment (PELL/TITUS). Mayor Polz thanked all applicants for applying.
