Walcott council approves agenda, consent items, sells rescue truck and OKs $7,719.99 in tools; docket totals $109,609.17

The Walcott City Council handled routine business at its Oct. 6 meeting, approving the agenda and the consent agenda and taking several ministerial votes on equipment and expenditures.
Harry Knutsen moved and Everett Bieri seconded to approve the agenda; the motion carried. Lisa Mengler moved and Jacob Puck seconded to approve the consent agenda, which included the invoice list; the motion carried. Jacob Puck moved and Everett Bieri seconded to approve the minutes from Sept. 15, 2025; that motion carried with Council Member Lisa Mengler recorded as abstaining because she was absent from the Sept. 15 meeting.
The council approved the sale of a 1997 Freightliner rescue truck to the highest bidder on GovDeals for $10,100, a motion made by Lisa Mengler and seconded by Jacob Puck. The council also approved purchasing Milwaukee battery-operated tools as presented for $7,719.99, following a motion by Mengler and a second from Everett Bieri.
The meeting record includes a posted expenditures docket totaling $109,609.17. The staff-prepared fund breakdown listed General fund expenditures of $50,269.30; Fire Reserve Donations $330.35; Sidewalk Program $700.00; Century St Watermain $2,324.00; Water Utility $26,601.53; Water Main Repair Fund $6,548.62; Sewer Utility $12,940.17; and Solid Waste $9,895.20. Vendors on the invoice list included Alliant Energy, IMEG Corp, Republic Services, and others.
All motions carried. The meeting adjourned at 6:17 p.m.
