Tri-Center board elects Sara Arnold president, Jeremy VanArsdol vice president

The Tri-Center Comm School District Board elected Sara Arnold as board president and Jeremy VanArsdol as vice president at its annual meeting on Nov. 11, 2024. The reorganization took place during a brief session called to order at 6:59 p.m.
Katie Ausdemore nominated Sara Arnold for board president; after nominations closed, the recorded tally showed four votes in favor and one abstention by Arnold, and Sara Arnold was elected. Amanda Scherer nominated Jeremy VanArsdol for vice president; that election likewise recorded four votes in favor and one abstention and VanArsdol was elected.
The board then discussed and affirmed its meeting rules and schedule, agreeing to meet at 6:00 p.m. on the second Monday of each month whenever possible.
By motion of Amanda Scherer, seconded by Mike Olsen, the board approved a slate of annual appointments. The appointments included Jennifer Harder as board secretary/treasurer; Michelle Huber and Dr. Angela Huseman as sexual harassment grievance officer and alternate; Sherry Wilson and Michelle Huber as Level I investigators; and Chad Harder as Title IX coordinator. The board authorized check signing by Jennifer Harder, Dr. Angela Huseman and the board president. Legal counsel appointments listed Scott Rogers of Peters Law Firm and Brett Nitzschke and Beth Grob of Ahlers Law Firm. The board named depository banks and limits: Midstates Bank, Neola ($12,000,000), Community Bank, Persia ($20,000) and ISJIT ($5,000,000). The motion to approve the annual appointments carried on a 5-0 vote.
Business Manager and Board Secretary Jennifer Harder presented the Secretary/Treasurer report for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2024; the minutes record presentation of the report but do not include further detail on balances or audit findings.
A motion by Katie Ausdemore, seconded by Jeremy VanArsdol, to adjourn the annual meeting carried 5-0, and President Sara Arnold declared the meeting adjourned at 7:05 p.m. The board scheduled its next regular meeting for Dec. 11 at 6:00 p.m. in the Secondary Library.
