Administrators report on literacy training, testing audit, events and saferoom plans

At the Feb. 10 meeting, Superintendent Angela Huseman and Curriculum Director Michelle Baatz delivered administrative reports covering instruction, assessment and safety.
They reported elementary winter data days were held last week with Sally Johnston as facilitator and said teachers are currently in unit 7 of 8 of LETRS literacy training. Administrators announced Read Across America Night for March 6 in the high school gym and a Masked Reader assembly for elementary students on March 3. They also noted the D/F lists for middle and high school are much lower than previously reported.
Staff told the board an ISASP audit will be conducted this year during state testing and reviewed rough plans for a district saferoom. No formal action was taken on these informational items at the meeting.
Board members received the updates as part of the Administrative Reports section of the agenda.
