The Tri-Center Board of Education on Jan. 13 accepted the early notification and retirement papers of elementary teacher Amy Mathias, effective June 30, 2025, and approved the retirement of high school football coach Ryan Schroder after the 2024 season.
Ryan Schroder addressed the board earlier in the meeting regarding the football program. Later motions approved fall coaching contracts for volleyball and cross country and an immediate memorandum of understanding with Family Connections LLC. The board approved the items by voice vote; the retirement papers and subsequent personnel and contract motions were recorded as carrying by 5-0 votes where noted.
Superintendent Dr. Angela Huseman also shared information about a ShareIowa site during the meeting and reported district program updates, including that the Barrier family will donate laser-cutting equipment to support hands-on technology instruction. No employee unpaid-leave requests or fundraising requests were recorded for consideration at this meeting.
The board scheduled its next regular meeting for Feb. 10 at 6:00 p.m. and adjourned at 6:32 p.m.
