Council approves 2026 meeting and holiday calendars

The Lithonia City Council on Dec. 1 approved its 2026 calendar of council and work-session dates and the city holiday schedule by voice vote.
City clerk staff introduced the calendars, which had been included in the meeting packet. Council members asked how residents would be notified when city offices are closed; staff said calendars are posted on the city website and outside city hall and will be included in future mailings and notices.
Councilmembers requested clearer monthly financial statements and presentation formats so the council can track revenues and expenses between now and the annual budget process. No public comments were received. The calendars were adopted by voice vote; the clerk will post the adopted dates and update the packet materials.
