Council hears ambulance coverage and maintenance updates; parking ordinance to be prioritized

The Lamberton City Council received updates on emergency and maintenance services at its Sept. 9 meeting.
Administrator Halter reported that Birkemeyer provided ambulance statistics: the department logged 12 calls last month, with Walnut Grove responding to one call and Wabasso to three; the remainder were handled by Lamberton. Councilors discussed coverage and distribution of calls but made no formal changes to mutual-aid arrangements.
Maintenance Supervisor Thram updated the council on planned street work (fog coating to occur the week of Sept. 9), alley repairs and the need to obtain measurements to estimate a replacement pool liner. Thram also noted the clinic sewer project was larger than anticipated; a new floor has been installed and sidewalk repair was expected to finish the week. Thram asked the council to prioritize redoing the parking ordinance because vehicles have been parked in the same spaces for weeks on end. The council approved the maintenance report (motion Irlbeck/Bittner, unanimous).
No formal directive to change ambulance mutual-aid agreements was recorded. Staff continues to work on estimates and procurement for pool and clinic repairs.
