Toledo Council adopts FY27 budget on a 3–2 vote, sets levy marginally lower

In roll call, Councilmembers Pansegrau, Boll and Ray voted yes; Councilmember Vesely voted no; Councilmember Cook was absent. The motion carried.
The approved consent and budget materials included the city’s financial reports and a claims report listing invoices from March 24 through April 13, 2026. The claims report totaled $219,296.68 and payroll totaled $77,257.09 across funds; the minutes itemized fund-level expenses including General ($177,583.80), Water ($34,748.29) and Sewer ($30,966.21).
The council’s next procedural step is certification of the approved budget to the Tama County Auditor as required. No appeals or additional public hearings were recorded at the meeting.
