The Westmoreland County Land Bank Board on April 28 heard a presentation of the Land Bank's 2025 financial audit and a status update on current finances.
Maher-Duessel Principal Auditor Samantha Strejek and Audit Manager Holly Ackerman reviewed auditor responsibilities and the organization's audited financial statements, including assets and cash flows. The auditors reported they found no problems or inconsistencies and recommended no changes to current processes; the audit presentation was informational and required no board action.
Finance Manager Jamie Scherich told the board the Land Bank is prepared for changing fiscal conditions in the near term. Scherich said accounts receivable are down following receipt of school taxes, there are no major liabilities identified, and profit-and-loss is about where staff projected for this time of year. He added the organization remains in a deficit position typical of the first half of the fiscal year.
Board members did not take a vote on the audit itself; the financial report for the previous month was approved earlier in the meeting on a motion by Donna Holdorf-Roadman, seconded by Rebecca Parry, and carried unanimously.
The presentations gave the board a picture of stability in accounting and a reminder that seasonal cash-flow factors—such as school tax receipts—affect month-to-month balances. No procedural changes were proposed by the auditors.
The board received additional informational updates later in the meeting about property listings and outreach events; no further financial votes were taken.
