Joel McCoy moved to rehire Morales as pool manager and Mike Gunderson seconded the motion; council members voted unanimously in favor (ayes: all; absent: Garberding and Reiling). In a separate motion, Katschman moved and Gunderson seconded to pay Morales a $5,000 stipend for the season; that motion also carried unanimously.
The council also approved hiring nine lifeguards who had applied so far and indicated more hires are expected before the season begins.
