Council to solicit bids after parks staff flags hazardous Cass Park trees

Amanda described the maple as having limbs at angles that make them reachable by children and able to cause damage if they fail. She said the ash is a top priority among a broader set of ash trees in the park, some of which have been treated and others that may need removal. Councilmembers agreed to include the two trees with the other immediate removal needs in the bid package and to get cost estimates to plan budgeting.
Council's action was a directive to solicit bids; they did not authorize removal funds at the July 8 meeting beyond directing staff to gather bids and return with cost estimates and scheduling options.
