The Ivanhoe City Council approved a six-year garbage-service contract with Southwest Sanitation on Feb. 24, 2025 following a presentation by Dan Ritter of Southwest Sanitation. The contract sets a $0.25 per-can monthly rate increase effective March 1, 2025, no increase in 2026 and $0.25 increases in each year from 2027 through 2030.
Dan Ritter presented the proposed alignment of the contract and outlined that there were no other changes proposed to service terms. On a motion by Council Member Adam Panka, seconded by Council Member Brad Blanchette, the council voted to accept the contract; the motion carried unanimously.
The contract approval was recorded without additional amendments. The council did not provide a detailed vote roll call in the minutes beyond the motion and outcome. The city administrator will proceed with the contract implementation consistent with the approved schedule.
