Greene fire/EMS schedule distracted-driver training; AMS nursing home to open May 18

Jeff Stirling told the council on May 11 that the Greene Ambulance and Fire Department will conduct a mock distracted-driver training for North Butler middle- and high-school students on May 22 at about 12:30 p.m. at the intersection of 5th and Traer streets; the exercise is expected to last about one hour.
Stirling said the department bought a new monitor with funds from a recent soup supper and will train on that monitor on June 9. He also reported that Butler County EMS will provide advanced life care (ALC) services for the city when needed.
Separately, Mayor Galen Lindell reported he had spoken with Isaac, owner of AMS nursing home, who told him the facility will open on May 18, starting with four to six patients and planning to be fully operating in June.
The council did not take formal action on these informational reports; they were provided as operational updates during the meeting.
