Board approves conservation carryover, mulching head purchase and routine resolutions

"We do have some uh money left over in our budget ... looking around 14,000 left that I'd like to request be put into our capital improvement fund for projects in our parks or matching funds for grants," Shrader said. A board member moved and the board approved transferring the funds into the capital improvement fund by voice vote.
Equipment purchase: Following an engineer’s presentation and vendor quotes, the board considered a mulching head purchase. County staff recommended a Dennis Seamoff drum mulching head (recommended for its performance and expected to reduce chainsaw time); staff noted the machine requires a constant‑flow kit to protect hydraulics and quoted four to five weeks lead time for stock units. A motion to approve the purchase in fiscal 2026 was made, seconded, and approved by voice vote.
Resolutions and appointments: The board moved, seconded and approved annual transfer and appropriation resolutions for the coming year. The board also accepted staff recommendations for two appointments to the county VA commission, approving the reappointment of Elizabeth Clemish and the new appointment of Brian Heath.
Consent agenda: Earlier in the meeting the board approved the consent agenda (minutes, claims and monthly reports) by unanimous voice vote.
