Lexington Planning Commission approves agenda and minutes; staff reports Pancho’s sign lacked a permit

The Lexington Planning Commission convened Jan. 13, 2026, at 7:00 p.m. at 9180 Lexington Avenue. Chairperson Bautch called the meeting to order; Commissioner Michelle Koch, Commissioner Gloria Murphy and Commissioner Brandon Winge were recorded as present, and Commissioner Ron Thorson was listed as excused. Councilmember Kim Devries and City Administrator Bill Petracek attended.
Commissioner Gloria Murphy moved to approve the meeting agenda as presented; Commissioner Brandon Winge seconded. The motion carried 4-0, according to the minutes. Later in the meeting, Commissioner Michelle Koch moved to approve the Planning Commission minutes from Dec. 9, 2025; Commissioner Brandon Winge seconded and the motion carried 4-0.
City staff reported building permit figures for December 2025; there was no discussion recorded on the permits. The commission also noted City Council minutes from Dec. 4 and Dec. 18, 2025.
Under planning commission input, Chairperson Bautch asked about the status of a sign at Pancho’s. City Administrator Bill Petracek stated that staff are working on the issue and that the business owner did not have a permit for the sign. Petracek also said there may be a future agenda item involving a residential variance for a driveway permit; no details or dates were provided in the minutes.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:14 p.m. after a motion from Commissioner Brandon Winge and a second from Commissioner Gloria Murphy; the minutes record the motion as carried 5-0. Individual roll-call votes for motions were not listed in the meeting minutes.
Follow-up: staff will continue to address the Pancho’s sign issue and will notify the commission if a residential variance application is submitted.
