CRA updates: Golden Gate vision, Dixie Highway design approved and Park Drive second phase to add angled parking and dumpsters

CRA staff presented a capital projects update covering landscape vision work, streetscape design, and Park Drive improvements.
Susan Corrales of the Office of Community Development told the board the Golden Gate landscape vision had a community engagement meeting May 27 and that consultants are working on the construction design phase. She said the Dixie Highway Stormwater and Streetscape Project received approval of the design contract at the May 19 board meeting and is formally moving forward.
On Park Drive in Port Salerno, Corrales said the two‑phase project’s second phase — which includes a dumpster enclosure for the Morningfield facility and changed parking from parallel to angled pull‑in spaces to add stalls — has been packaged for bidding and she expects 4–5 months of procurement and review before construction begins. "We should see the end of that project by the end of the year," she said.
Public commenter Gary Earler had also asked earlier that the Morningfield site receive a dumpster enclosure and noted a county‑marked dumpster visible on private property near the docks; board members acknowledged the request.
Corrales closed by advising members to ask staff for more detail about any particular project, and she reminded the board that the CRA open‑space Golden Gate kickoff meeting would happen Wednesday afternoon.
