Lismore council certifies election results, approves routine financials and appointments

The City of Lismore City Council met on Nov. 12, 2024, and approved routine business items, certified local election outcomes and confirmed an appointment made by phone.
The meeting opened with Mayor Wayne Bents presiding and a roll call that counted Kris Weidert, Tory Bohlke and Ryan Schieck as present; Cliff Altman called in by phone. On a motion by Kris Weidert, seconded by Ryan Schieck, the council approved the meeting agenda. The council then approved the minutes from Oct. 7, 2024 on a motion by Ryan Schieck, seconded by Tory Bohlke.
Amber Bertrand, the city clerk, presented the monthly financial statement showing deposits and invoices from the prior month through the current month. On a motion by Ryan Schieck, seconded by Kris Weidert, the council approved the financial statement, authorized payment of invoices and approved the stated transfers.
The council approved Resolution 24.11.1 to hold a calendar raffle for St. Anthony on Dec. 18, 2024 (motion by Kris Weidert, seconded by Tory Bohlke). The body also approved Resolution 24.11.2 certifying the Nov. 2024 election results (motion by Tory Bohlke, seconded by Kris Weidert). The minutes record that the mayoral result was an all write-in outcome and that Andrew Fodness received the most votes for the office in question; Amber Bertrand called Fodness during the meeting and put him on speaker and he accepted the position. The minutes list Ken Leinen and Austin Garms as the council members receiving the most votes for council seats.
Other routine items recorded: the maintenance report and the Fire Department report were both approved by motion, and council discussed missing park equipment and a land-sale matter noted as being handled by Davi Bullerman. With no further business, on a motion by Tory Bohlke, seconded by Kris Weidert, the council adjourned. The next council meeting is scheduled for Monday, Dec. 9, 2024, at 6:00 p.m.
