Lismore schedules crack sealing for Sept. 5–6; staff readies for fall clean-up and fundraiser

Josh, the city’s maintenance staff, told the City of Lismore City Council on Aug. 12 that crack sealing is scheduled for Sept. 5–6 and that he will take a couple of days off around Labor Day as previously requested and approved by the council.
Josh said he installed the flagpole in front of the fire hall, will move an old pole by the shop to clear space for the Fire Department fundraiser, and will prepare the hall and picnic tables for the event. Council members agreed to a fall clean-up; Amber Bertrand, city clerk, will contact Schaap Sanitation to arrange a roll-off.
Council and staff also discussed resuming enforcement on ordinance violations; Amber and Josh will compile a list of property owners who need letters. Amber noted that Mayor Wayne Bents needs to clean up his yard before broader enforcement can proceed; the mayor said he is working on it and has removed quite a bit.
The council approved the maintenance report.
