Underwood council approves routine consent items, pays $98,646.15 on Highway Avenue project

The Underwood City Council on Dec. 10 approved a slate of routine items including vendor claims, an alcohol license renewal and a partial construction payment for the Highway Avenue project.
Mayor Dennis Bardsley called the meeting to order at 6 p.m. Council member Pingel moved to approve the agenda; Shane Tiarks seconded and the motion carried 4-0. The council approved Nov. 12 regular meeting minutes and Nov. 21 special meeting minutes (Madsen moved, Erwin seconded; motion carried 4-0).
The council approved a commercial balance adjustment for FLSCO to 20,000 gallons for October and November after staff reported a new meter was installed via communication from Vicki Roane. The council also granted an alcohol license renewal for Underwood Truck Stop and approved an Alcohol Beverage Division receipt of withdrawal and refund; both measures passed 4-0.
Council approved partial pay application #2 to Carley Construction for the Highway Avenue Road Reconstruction in the amount of $98,646.15 (Madsen moved, Erwin seconded; motion carried 4-0). The payments and other claims were approved as part of the consent agenda. The consent agenda and claims list includes payments to MidAmerican Energy, United Healthcare, gWorks, Electric Pump and multiple other vendors as itemized in the minutes.
Payroll for November 2024 was listed at $27,605.05 and the minutes include a fund-by-fund summary showing total expenses of $98,511.62 and total revenue of $126,973.88 for the month.
The meeting adjourned at 6:32 p.m.
