Hogansville city staff told the council they have selected Atlas for traffic planning but that the consultant’s proposed scope exceeded the $75,000 placeholder in the city budget. City Manager Lisa E. Kelly said some on‑call services have already been used and that, to stay within budget, the council should prioritize a short list of deliverables.
Council members agreed to confine the initial contract to five priority tasks: an existing conditions analysis; an assessment of existing and future conditions; identification of intersection and corridor improvements; multimodal infrastructure and connectivity planning; and downtown and local circulation planning. Kelly said the narrowed scope is intended to deliver actionable recommendations while keeping consultant costs within the budgeted amount.
The matter is listed on the Regular Meeting agenda for council action. No contract was executed during the work session; staff will return with a contract or motion for approval at the Regular Meeting.
