City Manager Danny told council that Walton County's board approved up to $200,000 for a joint project to build pickleball courts at Meridian Park. "The county manager sent an email saying that it's been approved by the board of commissioners for Walton County and they will start the bid phase with Precision Planning," Danny said.
Danny said the city previously gave verbal approval to the joint project and the county will begin the procurement process. Council members noted the popularity of pickleball and thanked staff for coordinating with county counterparts; no vote or additional funding request was taken at this meeting.
The city will continue to coordinate design and bidding with Walton County and Precision Planning and will return to council for any required approvals or cost‑sharing agreements.
