Underwood City Council on Nov. 12 authorized staff to solicit bids for 17 handicap-accessible sidewalk entries across town and directed staff to return bid results to the council for a later decision. The motion to authorize bid solicitations passed 4-0 (Kelle Erwin moved; Jodi Bose seconded).
The council also approved partial pay application #1 to Carley Construction for Highway Avenue reconstruction in the amount of $153,046.66; that motion passed 4-0 (Jodi Bose moved; Kelle Erwin seconded). Council records list the exact amount approved for the contractor payment.
Separately, the council approved participation in a roller-over program for the city's Bobcat skid steer. Maintenance report items included delivery of a new road sander, repaired plow switch, generator plug fixes and replacement of two broken belts. Council members noted the planned street project may resume Thursday, weather permitting.
The sidewalk bid authorization and the Carley Construction payment were recorded as separate motions during regular business; council members did not propose amendments during discussion.
