Harvey council sets property price, approves equipment purchases and pays July claims

The Harvey City Council set a sale price for a city lot and approved several routine purchases and reimbursements at its Aug. 5 meeting.
Council Member Adam Dubois moved to set the price for Lot 9 in the subdivision of Lots 5, 6 and 7 in Rietveld and Emmel’s Factory Sites Addition to the City of Harvey at $12,500. The motion was seconded by Kelly Cooper. Council Member Leonard Geery voted no and the motion carried as recorded in the minutes.
The council also approved purchase of a shredder (motion by Kelly Cooper, seconded by Adam Dubois) and authorized reimbursement of $107.99 to City Clerk Jennifer Geery for a UBox yearly subscription used for park security camera cloud storage (motion by Adam Dubois, seconded by Kelly Cooper). The minutes record these motions as carried with “all ayes.”
Council approved payment of July bills and adjourned; the minutes include an itemized list of approved claims for the period July 2–Aug. 5, 2024, including payroll ($3,074.45) and several vendor payments such as Municipal Supply Inc. ($2,195.42), Lathrop Farms ($2,200.00), and a salt purchase listed as HD Supply formerly Home Depot Pro ($2,734.20).
The minutes also note discussion of animal restrictions, nuisance abatement and updates from park and street reports; no formal policy changes on those subjects were recorded.
