Haverhill council approves sale of 204 2nd St. and a 24x24 garage addition permit

The Haverhill City Council on Aug. 12 approved the sale of property at 204 2nd St. and granted a building permit for an attached 24-by-24-foot garage addition.
During the public hearing the council, with no public comment, approved the sale of lots 7, 8, 9 and 10 of Block 2 in Haverhill to Jim and Jana Stanton, subject to existing conditions and covenants. Council member Stalzer moved to approve the sale; Council member Welton seconded. The minutes record the vote as ayes—Faircloth, Stalzer, Vanderah and Welton; Daters absent.
Immediately afterward, the council approved a building permit for the Stanton residence to construct a 24x24-foot addition to the existing garage. Council member Welton moved to approve the permit; Council member Vanderah seconded. The motion carried with the same recorded vote.
The approvals were recorded in the minutes and signed by Mayor Madaleine Welton and Clerk/Treasurer Jenny Fogle. The minutes do not identify any conditions beyond “subject to all existing conditions and covenants.”
The council adjourned at 7:36 p.m.; the next regular meeting is scheduled for Sept. 9, 2024, at 6:30 p.m.
