Middle River committee approves spending for ceiling repairs, reviews fund balances

The committee reviewed the Feb. 3, 2025 Middle River Legacy Fund financial statement, which showed General Spendable assets of $16,015.02 (ending balance after expenses $15,015.02) and Special Projects (Raise the Roof) of $24,658.00 (ending $19,358.00), for total net assets of $34,373.02.
The fund approved an additional $1,100 for labor and $1,300 for ceiling tiles and insulation so that Tony Brandon can complete the Legacy Center ceiling repairs in February. The record shows Tony Brandon previously received $5,300 for mold remediation work; the committee recorded expenses including a $1,000 deposit for a Wojo’s Greenbush Rodeo booking.
The committee noted that donated funds will cover product costs for a separate gym-floor refinish project while volunteer labor will be donated. No formal vote tallies other than “motion carried” are recorded in the minutes for the items noted.
Next steps: the committee is overseeing the ceiling repair completion in February and will monitor related remediation and testing before proceeding with scheduled events that depend on a cleared facility.
