Commissioner Ryan Hill to step down; Lake County planning staff to recruit applicants

Commissioner Ryan Hill told colleagues at the June 22 Lake County Planning Commission meeting that work commitments will make continued service on the commission difficult.
"I will really miss this," Hill said, thanking staff and fellow commissioners and offering to remain available informally. Colleagues and staff thanked him for his contributions to planning files, including work on the One Community Project and sidewalk advocacy.
Planning department staff said they are advertising the open seat in the newspaper and online and invited anyone interested to apply or to refer potential candidates. "We're accepting applications right now," a staff member said.
The chair and staff encouraged Hill to stay involved informally as time permits. The planning department will manage the application and appointment process and will post guidance about deadlines and required materials on its public webpage.
