Haverhill awards snow-removal contract to Ricken Tiling; discusses shelter house repairs and sets Trick-or-Treat

The Haverhill City Council on Oct. 21, 2024 accepted a snow-removal bid from Ricken Tiling and directed further attention to repairs at the community shelter house.
Council member Rachel Faircloth moved to accept the Ricken Tiling bid for snow removal; the motion was seconded by council member Stalzer and carried unanimously (Ayes — Daters, Faircloth, Stalzer, Vanderah and Welton). The minutes record the bid acceptance but do not include dollar amounts or contract terms.
During general discussion the council considered updating the shelter house with fresh paint and curtains and addressed repair of the air conditioner; no formal contract award or expenditure for those repairs was recorded at the meeting. The council also announced that Trick-or-Treat will take place on Saturday, Oct. 26, 2024, from 5:30 to 7 p.m., and asked residents to leave porch lights on if they wish to participate.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:31 p.m. on a motion by Daters, seconded by Stalzer. The council set its next regular meeting for Monday, Nov. 11, 2024, at 6:30 p.m.
