Haverhill council approves bills, renews Haverhill Social Club liquor license and schedules budget hearing

The Haverhill City Council met Feb. 10, 2025, and voted to approve the listed general fund bills and authorize the clerk to issue warrants for payment.
Council member Daters moved to approve the bills and Mayor Madaleine Welton seconded; the motion carried unanimously with votes from Daters, Faircloth, Stalzer, Vanderah and Welton. The clerk’s financial report showed an ending January balance of $195,923.55.
The council also unanimously approved the renewal of the liquor license for the Haverhill Social Club following a motion by Council member Vanderah and a second by Council member Stalzer. The minutes record the vote as Ayes — Daters, Faircloth, Stalzer, Vanderah and Welton; no dissenting votes were recorded.
The council set a public hearing on the FY2025 budget for March 10, 2025 at 6:30 p.m. to receive public comment prior to final budget action.
The Marshall County Sheriff’s contract law enforcement report was noted in the meeting record. The clerk listed January receipts and fund balances, including RUT, local option revenues and a state mowing reimbursement among the receipted items.
The council adjourned at 7:10 p.m.; the next regular meeting is scheduled for Monday, March 10, 2025 at 6:30 p.m.
