Dubois County’s highway staff reported progress on a countywide paving and chip‑seal program during the July 1 commissioners meeting. Highway Superintendent Steven L. Berg said chip‑seal work is about 33% complete and project costs are running below estimates; overlays were expected to finish by the end of June with paving and patching to follow.
The department provided an itemized overlay status and a detailed chip‑seal/paving schedule with individual road dates through late July and early August 2024. Highway Engineer Brent Wendholt also outlined HAC paving contracts for specific projects (24‑02, 24‑03, 24‑04) and reported that Bridge #254 (St. Anthony Road West) pile driving is complete and beam installation is in progress.
