China assessors approve seven abatements and three supplementals totaling about $5,129

Assessor Thomas Rumpf moved and Assessor Edwin Bailey seconded approval of a $244.53 abatement for Raymond Malley (2025-01, Act 107); the motion carried 5-0. The board next approved a $1,448.46 abatement for Gregory and Carrie Gay (2025-02, Act 243) on a motion by Rumpf and second from Bailey, 5-0. Assessor Edwin Bailey moved and Assessor Jeanne Marquis seconded a $102.96 abatement for Rumpf's Backyard Services (2025-03, PP 682); that motion carried 4-0-1, with Assessor Thomas Rumpf recorded as abstaining. The assessors also approved a $70.20 abatement for Richard C. and Kathleen C. Sjogren (2025-04, Act 2783), a $120.15 abatement for Wade Lawncare/Brandon Croan (2025-05, PP Act 775), a $189.42 abatement for Kevin Ballard (2025-06, Act 2948), and a $936.00 abatement for Michael Willette (2025-07, PP Act 880); each of those motions passed unanimously.
On supplemental assessments, Assessor Blane Casey moved and Assessor Edwin Bailey seconded supplementing Account 536 for $70.20 for the Sjogrens (S2025-01) because the property should not have received a veteran exemption; the motion carried 5-0. The board approved a $189.42 supplemental for Steven Hamel (S2025-02, Act 2948) on a motion by Thomas Rumpf and second by Jeanne Marquis, 5-0. Finally, the assessors approved a tree-growth penalty supplemental of $1,757.74 for Fredrickson (S2025-03, Act 2678) on a motion by Casey and second by Bailey, 5-0.
No members of the public spoke during the meeting; no assessor comments or formal unfinished/new business items were recorded. Town Manager Rebecca Hapgood was listed among attendees and the meeting minutes were submitted by Secretary Jeanne Marquis. The session concluded after the supplemental items and adjournment was recorded.
