County approves 911 call‑routing MOU to direct rollover calls to Jasper Police

The Dubois County Board of Commissioners on July 1 approved a Memorandum of Understanding to establish geographic routing and backup procedures for 911 calls. 911 Director Stuart Wilson said the agreement—between the county communications center, the City of Jasper Police Department, the Dubois County Communications 911 Advisory Board, INDigital, the Statewide 911 Board, and WTH GIS Thinkmap—will set procedures for routing cellular and landline 911 calls, Voice over Internet Protocol rollover, and emergency backup operations.
Wilson told the board that rollover routing of 911 calls will move from Pike County to the Jasper Police Department as part of efforts to improve response times. The board carried the motion 2–0; Wilson will secure signatures from the City of Jasper and the State of Indiana and return a finalized copy to the Auditor’s office.
