Dubois County commissioners create two courthouse security officer positions pending County Council funding

The Dubois County Board of Commissioners on July 1 approved creating two courthouse and annex security officer positions to be staffed 40 hours per week on a staggered schedule, with wage classification CPOLE III. Commissioner Chad A. Blessinger said the positions will be responsible for courthouse and annex security and that the county Emergency Management Agency has an application pending for security equipment grant funding expected in October.
The board carried the motion 2–0. Blessinger said the positions will be reevaluated if it is later determined that four officers are necessary. Funding for the positions will be determined by the County Council at its July 29, 2024 meeting.
