Winter Harbor hears FY27 budget presentations; town asks residents to consider Planning Board vacancies

Department heads and Town Manager Sara J. Liscomb presented FY27 budgets to the Winter Harbor selectmen at the March 23 meeting, beginning the board’s formal review of departmental requests.
Sara J. Liscomb, town manager, told the board that the Town Office will be closed March 24 for mandatory CVR2 training and that an unforeseen closure is scheduled for May 8. Liscomb also said nomination papers remain available and that the town needs volunteers to fill vacancies on the Planning Board.
During budget committee updates, S. Fortin thanked selectmen for approving new committee members and asked whether the newly adopted Meeting Place Policy means the Board of Selectmen will no longer grant permission to hold the Budget Committee’s meetings at an alternate location. The minutes record that the board approved the Meeting Place Policy 3-0; the committee’s question was noted for clarification.
The meeting packet included informational items — a thank-you letter, an investment statement and a Schoodic EMS report — that members were asked to review as part of budget planning. The board did not take further budget votes at this meeting and will continue budget review at future sessions.
