The Morton Grove Village Board approved a slate of routine but consequential measures at its June 23 meeting, voting unanimously on parking restrictions, a new structural inspection program, a sewer-lining contract and the sale of surplus fire apparatus.
Trusty Th presented Ordinance 26-12, the second reading amending the municipal code to adjust restricted parking zones near Niles West High School. Trustee Khan asked staff about resident notice and enforcement; village staff said the traffic engineer held public meetings and that the village will add language to guest passes to prohibit transfer so nonresidents cannot use resident passes. The board approved the ordinance by a 6–0 vote.
Also adopted was Ordinance 26-13, amending permit- and property-maintenance chapters to establish a structural integrity inspection program for select multifamily residences. The measure passed on its second reading, 6–0.
On capital work, the board passed Resolution 26-38, authorizing a contract with Horror Construction Incorporated of Goodfield, Illinois, for the 2026 sewer lining program. Separately, Resolution 26-37 authorized the sale of a 2006 Quint (identified as Quint 4) and other surplus apparatus via the Northwest Municipal Conference joint auction in Crestwood on July 16, 2026. Both resolutions passed 6–0.
The board also approved the June 23 warrant register totaling $810,355.93, 6–0, and voted to continue Ordinance 26-14 to the July 14 meeting.
