The Long Prairie City Council on Dec. 22 approved multiple annual license renewals, a legal services contract, and an engagement letter for the 2025 audit, with roll-call votes recorded for several items.
Mayor Jim Kreemer moved to approve the annual renewal of cigarette licenses for multiple businesses pending paperwork and insurance; the motion passed with Council Member Gabrier Perez recording an abstention while Mayor Kreemer, Council Members Lilah Gripne, Clint Krueger and JoAnn Schroeder voted yes.
The council likewise approved general corporate licenses, club licenses, intoxicating-liquor licenses, beer 3.2% off-sale licenses, Sunday liquor licenses and 2 a.m. liquor licenses; several of those approvals were recorded with Perez abstaining and the remainder voting yes. Council Member Clint Krueger moved to accept the audit engagement from Schlenner Wenner & Co. to complete the 2025 audit and to approve the 2026 Legal Services Contract with Quinlivan & Hughes, P.A.; both motions were approved unanimously.
