Darlington council approves routine reports, hears department updates and schedules May meeting

The Darlington Town Council approved routine items including the March 6 minutes and the payroll docket for March 2025, both by 5–0 votes.
Electric Superintendent Brian Mullen told the council the wire trailer has been ordered and reported a request from Patsy Hodges of The Hair Mill to clean a storm drain after heavy rainfall; he also noted the town’s salt spreader needs maintenance and parts. Marshall Kevin Crull of the Darlington Police Department emailed March activity logs and the April schedule and said he will look into installing cameras at Town Hall.
Clerk‑Treasurer Michelle Cash presented the March billing report and reported that tornado siren batteries have been replaced; President Nicole Parker will follow up to confirm the town is on the list for monthly testing. Jennifer Flaugher reminded the board that the festival is scheduled for Sept. 5–6. The board set its next meeting for May 1, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. at the Darlington Community Center and then adjourned after a 5–0 motion to close the session.
These were routine operational and administrative updates; no new ordinances or contracts (beyond the UMAC item noted separately) were voted on during the session.
