Darlington council adopts 2025 budget, approves $1,475 road-patching change order

The Darlington Town Council unanimously adopted Ordinance 3-2024, the Town of Darlington 2025 budget, during its Sept. 19 meeting. Council member Jennifer Flaugher moved to adopt the ordinance; Vice President Teresa Sutherlin seconded the motion, which passed 5-0.
Clerk-Treasurer Michelle Cash also presented a change order from contractor Milestone for additional 1LS road patching costing $1,475. Council member Marilyn Cohee moved to approve the change order; Vice President Sutherlin seconded, and the motion passed 5-0.
The votes finalize the town’s operating plan for the coming fiscal year and authorize the limited additional patching work described in the Milestone change order. The council recorded unanimous votes for both motions. No further budget amendments or conditions were noted in the minutes.
The council announced that remaining related procurement and contract matters, including a separate wastewater engineering-contract discussion, will be considered at the Oct. 3 meeting.
