Board seeks clarity on approval path for privately compiled historic inventory

Staff explained a private group (notably Karen McGrath and Carol Dominy) compiled an inventory over several years; the volunteer list provides parcel addresses and assessor parcel numbers but omitted categorical designations. Supervisor Williams requested Planning & Building Services to evaluate whether and how to incorporate the private inventory into the formal town plan. Several board members said many addresses on the current inventory are wrong and that inconsistent lists complicate review of properties (one example cited was disagreement over whether local water towers are historic resources).
Staff said the effort will progress through Planning & Building Services and the Board of Supervisors if adoption is recommended; the board will receive additional information and opportunities to comment as the process proceeds.
