Committee accepts Kenosha Innovation Center project; final contract $23.6 million

The Kenosha City Finance Committee voted to accept Project 23-2045, the Kenosha Innovation Center, as completed by Myron Construction, recording a final contract amount of $23,575,772.
Frank Carter, director of public works, asked the committee to accept the project so the city can move forward with building occupancy and tenant work. Carter said that the remaining scope is limited to restoration and erosion-control tasks covered by an existing erosion-control permit and escrow held by the contractor. "The only thing that's really left on that site is some restoration work," Carter said, noting the escrow and permit allow the city to require completion in the spring if restoration is needed.
Committee members had no further questions; the committee moved, seconded and approved acceptance by voice vote.
Acceptance closes the city's final inspection and allows administrative closeout of the contract; remaining restoration work will be completed under the existing erosion-control permit and escrow arrangement.
