Crawfordsville board approves dumpster request, surplus of police equipment and routine claims

At its Jan. 7 meeting, the Board of Public Works and Public Safety approved a temporary dumpster request for 412 Dunn Ave, authorized the Police Department to surplus older weight-room equipment and approved routine minutes and claims.
Carson Scott requested permission to place a dumpster at 412 Dunn Ave that would sit partially on the sidewalk and roadway from the end of the week through the first week of February — about one month. Erin Corbin moved to approve the request; Susan Albrecht seconded and the motion passed.
Chief Mattingly of the Crawfordsville Police Department requested that old weight-room equipment be declared surplus. The equipment was described as having a value of $5,000 or more and, because it met that threshold, will be sent to auction. Susan Albrecht moved to approve the surplus declaration and Erin Corbin seconded; the motion passed.
The board also approved the Dec. 31, 2025 minutes and claims from Jan. 5, 2026 by recorded motions and seconds. All routine approvals were recorded as passed in the meeting minutes.
