Southland School District reports 25% enrollment increase, cites teacher shortages

Hall said the district is finding it difficult to recruit qualified teachers and is working to address staffing by hosting career fairs with SMEC and trades employers. He also thanked the city for the new scoreboard and for allowing use of the concession stand during ball games.
The district presentation was informational; the council did not take formal action on the update during the meeting.
