Creek Bar & Grill pre-pays permit fee; Creek Club outlines fall/winter events and asks for cell booster

Representatives of The Creek Bar & Grill appeared at the Oct. 2 Rose Creek City Council meeting to explain why the outside-bar permit for Rose Creek Days 2023 had not been submitted and to request permission to pay the permit fee for 2023 and to prepay the 2024 fee.
Owner Mark Lang, joined by Patty Lang and Mary Lewison, asked the council to accept a $50 permit payment for 2023 and to allow prepayment of $50 for 2024; Clerk/Treasurer Kristine Allas accepted the check and will issue a receipt. The group also asked that the city notify them in advance when hydrants are flushed so outdoor bar operations are not disrupted.
Separately, Creek Club representative Kretta Menuey gave the Creek Club report. She asked again that the city consider installing or funding a cell phone booster in the park (either from City funds or through the Fire Department), said concession stand supplies have been cleaned out, and requested two-by-four boards (approximate materials cost $150) to hang plastic for the Halloween Spooktacular and Haunted Trail scheduled for Oct. 28. Menuey also listed upcoming community events: a Cancer Benefit Chili Cook-off on Nov. 18 and a visit by Santa at City Hall on Dec. 10. Council Member Andrew Felten asked the Creek Club to consider organizing a Christmas Light Contest and discuss it at the next meeting.
The council accepted the report and the requested administrative follow-ups (receipt issuance and hydrant-notification coordination). The permit prepayment was accepted subject to the applicants submitting a written application for 2024 before May 1, 2024.
