The Burlington Board of Selectmen met Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at Burlington Town Hall (hybrid via Zoom) and conducted routine business before entering executive session on an employment contract.
First Selectman Thompson called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. and the board observed a moment of silence for Rob Hiltbrandt. Present were First Selectman Thompson and Selectmen Boucher, Plourde, Woods-Owens and Goshdigian. Recording Secretary Andrew Thompson was listed as present.
The board unanimously approved the minutes from its May 26 meeting after a motion by Selectman Plourde and a second by Selectman Boucher.
The board then voted unanimously to appoint Leslie Siek to the Conservation Committee, with Selectman Goshdigian making the motion and Selectman Woods-Owens seconding. The appointment is effective immediately and runs through June 30, 2028.
During the Selectman’s report, Ken Parker introduced himself as the Interim Director of Public Works.
At 7:10 p.m. the board voted, on a motion by Selectman Goshdigian seconded by Selectman Boucher, to enter executive session to discuss the Director of Operations employment contract. The board exited executive session at 8:03 p.m. Following that session, the board unanimously authorized First Selectman Thompson to explore attorneys to represent the town on land use, labor and general town-counsel matters; that authorization was made by Selectman Boucher and seconded by Selectman Goshdigian.
A motion to adjourn carried unanimously at 8:03 p.m., moved by Selectman Woods-Owens and seconded by Selectman Boucher.
