Connersville Redevelopment Commission members heard an update on planning for Market Street Plaza’s 2026 events, which organizers told the commission will number about 12, up from roughly 6–8 the previous year.
The update, provided during the Jan. 23 meeting, said a marketing broker has been engaged to help secure touring and original artists and to assist with promotion. Planned programming includes a July 4th celebration, a Battle of the Bands (the winner will receive an opportunity to open a major event), continued worship‑night programming under a revised name, swing and big‑band concerts, and Winterfest events.
Commissioners discussed marketing strategies, sponsorship development and staffing support for event operations. The commission also encouraged community members to share ideas and potential investment or sponsorship opportunities.
