At its Dec. 30 meeting, the Hope Select Board approved several routine administrative and operational items in unanimous votes.
Charles Weidman moved and the board approved the adoption of the Hope Volunteer Fire Department Standard Operating Guidelines to be effective Jan. 1, 2026; the board separately approved the Hope Fire Department EMS First Response Guidelines with the same effective date. Both motions were seconded and passed 4-0. During discussion on the operating guidelines, Charlene Mazzeo asked whether the policy would have any fiscal impact; the minutes record no follow-up figure or fiscal clarification.
The board also approved a motion permitting the Hope Volunteer Fire Department to enter into a lease agreement with Maine Public Broadcasting to place communications equipment on the department’s tower or building; the motion passed 4-0. Treasurer's Warrant #63 was approved on a 4-0 vote, and the board approved minutes from Dec. 9 and Dec. 23, 2025 by voice vote (motions by Charles Weidman, seconded by Wayne Luce).
Sitting as the Board of Assessors, the board denied a supplemental tax bill submitted for Robert & Jean Poole, 0 Annis Ln, Map 03 Lot 052 in the amount of $93.73, and directed the Assessors Agent to review and explain the property valuations. The meeting adjourned at 7:32 p.m.
