At the Feb. 11 meeting the Dupont Town Board discussed several park items: repairing a zipline, possible purchase of a ping-pong table from the playground’s original plan, approving a memorial plaque for volunteer Rick Vance, and planning a community carnival fundraiser.
Clerk Meek reported the zipline has been broken for several months and that she had contacted the playground company to request a timeline for repair. The playground committee now has funds to consider buying a table-tennis table that was included in the original plans; staff will research models and prices and bring options to the March meeting.
The board voted to buy a memorial plaque recognizing Rick Vance’s contributions; Member Christine Dicken moved the motion and Member Adams seconded. Clerk Meek will obtain prices and options for the plaque.
A Dupont Park Committee/community meeting will be held March 1 to discuss partnering with Kindness of Jefferson County to hold a carnival in Dupont; proceeds will support the park.
Next steps: staff to follow up with the playground vendor on the zipline repair, research table options, obtain plaque pricing, and hold the March 1 planning meeting.
